TOGETHER, We Can All Stand Tall with Nova Vita Against Domestic Violence

Nova Vita Appreciates Your  Support…

On Sunday June 3rd, 2018, over 150 members of our community joined Nova Vita in Harmony Square at our 8th Annual Heels to Heal Walk. Together, we raised over $21,0000 to support of the over 1,000 women, men, non-binary individuals and children we serve every year. We are thankful to all of our sponsors, donors and walkers who stand tall, together with Nova Vita against domestic violence.

“Heels to Heal is Nova Vita’s largest event of the year, both in raising awareness and financial support. But we can’t do it alone. The community stood tall with Nova Vita today to affirm that violence in any relationship is never ok,” said Natasha Dobler, Executive Director.

From Men in Heels to Heels to Heal Walk…

When we started this event 8 years ago, it was called Men in Heels – inspired by a larger international movement called “ Walk A Mile In Her Shoes.” In 2016, we made the decision to make the walk a more inclusive event.

At Nova Vita we strive to be a trailblazer in service innovation and  are dedicated to fostering an inclusive environment. We want to see all members of the community – men, women, children, and non-binary individuals – stand tall, together, against domestic violence at our Heels to Heal Walk. Domestic violence affects everyone and we want to do this important work together. We want to empower everyone to be a voice and to be a part of change.

Nova Vita Heels to Heal Walk is something special to each attendee…

A rally for a family member affected by intimate partner violence, a moment of healing for a victim, an opportunity for a woman and her family to give back and raise money for the safe place they called home for 3 months, a chance for a past perpetrator to stand tall with his children and family and declare that he now believes in a life free of violence, and that he is sorry. The stories, the reasons, the connections, they are all unique but the message, the reason, the hope is the same…because every person is entitled to a life free from violence.

Thank you to our Corporate Sponsors…

Without whose continuous support we would be unable to provide the advanced programs and services to our community.
